The 10th Negotiators’ Standing sub-group (NSSG-10) meeting was hosted by the European Union. Delegations from Canada, the European Union, Japan, south Korea, the People’s Republic of China, the Russian Federation and the United States of America met at the Culham Research Center, UK, on 25 September. This followed an intense week of work for various sub-groups, who reported at the NSSG-10 meeting. Important progress has been made in particular, upon the Procurement Allocation Scheme and Intellectual Property Rights guidelines. Delegations have recalled the importance attached by their governemnts to the ITER project and their wishes to reach consensus on the site as soon as possible and finish up the Negotiations possibly by the end of this year. It is foreseen that the next Negotiation meeting will be held in Beijing in November.
