Uncertainty Quantification in Fusion Power Plant Design

This PhD project will combine the experience concerning power plant design based at CCFE with the knowledge about uncertainty quantification from Liverpool. The aim is to develop workflows to assess the uncertainty related to DEMO operating point and use the tools and workflows to develop robust nominal and back-up operating scenarios to increase confidence in the successful creation of such devices.

Various PhD positions at IRFM

Various PhD positions are proposed by IRFM (Institute for Magnetic Fusion Research) in Cadarache.

Various PhD positions at the Swiss Plasma Center (SPC / EPFL)

The CRPP is the Swiss national competence centre for plasma physics and fusion and, at the same time, it is an important part of a world-class academic institution, the EPFL, in which it is also geographically integrated. As a consequence, CRPP is in a privileged position to provide education and training over a large spectrum of plasma physics and fusion related subjects, using world-class research infrastructure and proficient supervision.
